DERAILED TRAM CATCHES FIRE NINE PERSONS INJURED Reed. 9 a.m. SYDNEY, To-day. There was a remrakable accident last night, when a tram left the rails in Ultimo and crashed into a tobacconist’s shop. Almost simultaneously fire broke out, adding further terror to the injured and frightened passengers. The driver, conductor, signalman and six passengers were injured. The driver was trapped in his compartment, but a man broke the window and released him. Eire brigades and ambulances were quickly on the sceen and the flames were subdued. An electric tram collided with a loaded motor-bus at Prahran, Melbourne. The bus rolled over and the passengers were extricated only by smashing in the rear wall of the roof. The driver was not hurt, but 21 of the passengers were injured. The tram was badly scratched.
