Sleeping Baby Saved From Blazing House

WOMAN'S TIMELY RESCUE DESTRUCTION OF BUILDING A baby had a narrow escape . from death yesterday when the house in which it was asleep was destroyed by fire during the absence of the child’s parents. Mrs. Adams was passing Mr. H. Wright's house in Great North Road, Henderson, yesterday afternoon when she discovered it was on fire. Seeing no one about and knowing that a baby was sometimes left asleep in the house while the parents were absent she rushed into the blazing building. Blissfully unconscious of the danger that threatened it the child was sleeping peacefully when Mrs. Adams seized it in her) arms and carried it to safety. Neighbours arrived and salvaged most of the furniture, hut the house of five rooms was destroyed. The fire is believed to have been caused by a faulty chimney.
