OPOTIKI ACCLIMATISATION
MEETING OF SOCIETY (From Our Own Correspondent) OPOTIKI, Tuesday. A meeting of the Opotiki Acclimatisation Society was held last evening. The year ended with a credit balance of £IOB. Officers elected were:—President, Mr. F. C. Parkinson: vice-president, Mr. A. Young; treasurer, Mr. E. Chapman; auditor, Mr. W. A. Todd; committee, Messrs. W. A. Butler, G. Bennett, T. Edwardson, M. Stevenson, sen., and jun., S. Dyason, J. B. Birkmyer, Wilson and Scott. It was decided to leave the question of the amalgamation with the Rotorua Society in the hands of the Department of Internal Affairs. It was resolve dto approach the Minister of Internal Affairs to endeavour to enlarge the district to enable fish - ing in adjacent rivers. Trout fry valued at £25 will be purchased during the coming season for liberation in the local rivers.
