During the year ! the society had done valuable work in helping to have the Mental Defer- j tives Bill put through Parliament, and in having deleted from it the clauses generally regarded as obnoxious. Representatives of he society had met the Minister of Education, the Hon. H. At.more, on one of his visits to Auckland, and had conferred with him on the question of placing young people in employment after they left school. The report, regretted that the attendances had not been larger, and thanked the speakers who had addressed several meetings. It also referred to the death of Mr. H. P.
