MONEY FOR RADIUM
TRAVIS BEQUEST PAYMENT Press Association CHRISTCHURCH, Monday. Tho North Canterbury Hospital Board to-day received from the trustees of the Travis bequest the sum of £7OO to be spent on the purchase of radium for the board’s radium and deep therapy department. This is the first payment from the bequest for this purpose. It is not yet known how much will be available from the estate for medical research. It is probable that the income will be divided equally between cancer and tuberculosis research, and that £7OO represents about half the annual amount that will be available for cancer research.
