A PROFITABLE DAY

A LTHOUGH it is some consider- ■* able time since G. T. Mitchell, the well-known Epsom trainer, has been handed a first certificate, he came into his own on Saturday with a vengeance, scoring clear cut victories with Sebisca and Polly’s Picture, taking second honours with Horizon and also gaining a third situation with Polly’s Picture. Horses handled by Mitchell were all at a good price, and a pound invested on him in each of his five starts would have resulted in the backer lifting £36 18s, quite a profitable day. While few of the sporting fraternity participated in the good things served up, all were pleased to see the stable at last get a well deserved turn at Fortune’s wheel.
