SUBURBAN FIRES

BLOCKHOUSE BAY AND AVONDALE OUTBREAKS MOTOR-CAR BADLY DAMAGED The Point Chevalier and Avondale Firu Brigades suppressed a fire in a four-roomed house in New Windsor Road, Avondale, at 11.4 p.m. yesterday, damage being confined to the corner of one room. A defective hearth was the cause of the outbreak. The house is owned by the Public Trust and occupied by Mr. G. Bond. At 1.54 .p.m. yesterday the same brigades were called to an outbreak in W'ynyard Road, Blockhouse Bay, in a four-roomed house owner by Mr. F. Tucker and occupied by Mrs. J. Barton. The damage, which was confined to the weather-boards, was caused bv a spark from a fire in the yard.
