AIRMAN BADLY HURT
CAPTAIN LANCASTER AT NEW YORK CRASH NEAR TRINIDAD {Australian and N.Z. Press Association) Reed. 9.4fi a.m. NEW YORK, Friday. Captain G. B. Lancaster, whose airplane crashed and was totally wrecked during an attempt to fly round the Caribbean Sea, is reported to be in a critical condition. He is aboard the steamship Vauban, which is docking at Hoboken to-morrow. An ambulance will meet the ship to take Captain Lancaster to hospital. Captain Lancaster's flight started from Trinidad. His airplane struck an air pocket soon after the take-off, and fell as it was returning to the airdrome. The airman’s best achievement in flying was his trip from Britain to Australia with Mrs. Keith Miller, who achieved the distinction of being the first woman to make this journey by air.
