HIGHWAYS CONTROL

At ttbe last meeting of the Opaheke, Bombay -Karaka Ratepayers' Association, tlaf> following resolution regarding the construction and maintenance of main, highways was passed: “That this association As of the unanimous opinion now that adequate taxation ds provided by means of the motor taxation for the construction of the main .highways, that the time has arrived wlaen the main arterial highways of the Dominion, from the North Cap*? to the Bluff, should be taken over >. by the Highways Board, and their construction and maintenance undertaken by the board.” Reasons foer this opinion were set out at length*. Copies of the resolution are to be* forwarded to the Prime Alinister andi Minister of Public Works.
