NIGHT SOCCER

NOVELTY FOR AUCKLAND GAMES AT BLANDFORD PARK Night Soccer is the latest novelty which is to be placed before the sports public of Auckland. Powerful floodlighting and a ball painted white will be used for night matches, the first of which will be held at Blandford Park next Wednesday night, when a seven-a-side tourney will be staged. Special projectors have been designed for flood-lighting the ground, the equipment developing over 45,00 candle-power. A test was carried out last night by players from the Y.M.C.A. Club, and was thoroughly satisfactory to the executive heads of the A.F.A., who witnessed the try-out.
