STRUCK BY METAL

SINGLE MAN INJURED While unloading machinery at Marama Station, on the new Westfield railway line, Mr. William Haswell, a single man, aged 49, living at 23 Tranmere Road, Dominion Road, was struck by a piece of railway metal, his leg being broken. He was taken to the Auckland Hospital by his employer, Mr. W. Whittaker, and he is reported to be in a satisfactory condition.
