DAWES FOR ENGLAND
NEW U.S. AMBASSADOR APPOINTMENT CONFIRMED (Australian and N.Z. Press Association) (United Service) Reed. 10.3 a.m. WASHINGTON, Wed. The appointment of BrigadierGeneral C. G. Dawes as Ambassador to Britain was announced from White House to-day. The State Department has received word that General Dawes is acceptable to the British Government. The appointment, which is subject to confirmation by the Senate, is well received in diplomatic circles. General Dawes will sail for England in June.
