MANAWATU DEVIATION
NWE MINISTERS INSPECT WORKS PROPOSAL TO STOP SCHEME rr Press Association WELLINGTON, To-day. Nine members of the Cabinet, in eluding Sir Joseph Ward, left for Palmerston North to-day to inspect the railway deviation works there. The Ministers will return to-night. It is understood that the deviation works may soon be stopped. The scheme was to provide a new line beyond Palmerston North at a cost of some hundreds of thousands.
