LOSS TO AUCKLAND

ENGINEERS BID FAREWELL TO MR. BUSH

There was an attendance of about 50 at a luncheon given yesterday by the Auckland branch of the New Zealand Society of Engineers for the nurpose of bidding farewell to Mr. W. B. Bush, city engineer. Mr. W. A. Gray presided, and in speaking of the guest said Mr. BusJi had. for 20 years, held one of the- most important engineering positions in New Zealand. He had been held in the highest esteem. The opinion of Mr. D. JJ.olderness was that only engineers could appreciate the loss to Auckland by the departure of Mr. Bush for Brisbane on Friday. Mr. J. A. C. Allum and Mr. L. J 3. Campbell. district engineer of the Public Works Department, also made complimentary reference to Mr. Bush’s work for Auckland in the critical period of development during the past 20 years. A presentation of a leather suitcase was made to Mr. Bush.
