Who’s Who on the Niagara

The R.M.S. Niagara reached Auckland from Sydney this morning on her voyage to Vancouver. She carried only a moderate number of passengers from Australia, but many will join at Auckland to-morrow.

Mr. J. C. Burton, of Leicestershire, England, is a director of the Leicester Rubber Company, which manufactures John Bull tyres and rubber accessories. He is. also a Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society. Mr. Burton is on a world tour, combining business with pleasure, and has already visited Egypt, East Africa, Kenya Colony and Australia. He is accompanied by his wife and daughter. They will spend some weeks in New Zealand, while Mr. Burton visits his company’s representatives in all parts of the Dominion.

Mr. Malcolm Brodie, managing director of John Sanderson and Co., Sydney, is on his way to Vancouver on a private trip. His firm is concerned with shipping.

Mr. D. E. Morris is a director of the firm of Sidney Snow, which has large stores in Sydney and Melbourne. He and Mrs. Morris are going on a tour abroad.

Mr. and Mrs. C. Leonard and Mr. H. N. Leonard are Melbourne folk who are passing through Auckland on a world, tour.

Mr. J. M. Chalmers, a Singapore merchant, is on his way to England. He says that the floating dock is well in hand, and that nearly 400 supervisors and others from Europe are engaged on it in addition to a large number of natives. «•

After many years in the frozen meat trade Mr. T. Hebb, who until 12 months ago was manager of the London Central Meat Company, is convinced that New Zealand meat on the London market has reached a quality that cannot be improved. “It is superior in ‘get up’ to Australian meat,” he says. Mr. Hebb is visiting New Zealand for the first time.

Passengers landing at Auckland were Mr. and Mrs. F. A. Smith, Mr. and Mrs. B. A. Levison and their two daughters, Mr. W. J. Isbister and Mr. E. A. Box.

Among the through passengers are Colonel W. J. Thompson, Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Rose, Mr. J. J. Mcllroy, Mr. and Mrs. P. T. Berry, Mr. A. S. Hoskins, Mr. A. L. Poison, Mr. A. Blackmore and Mr. S. Meyer.
