Medical Aid for City's Unemployed

NEW MISSION CLINIC REV. J. CALDER’S SCHEME A free medical consulting clinic for Auckland's penniless unemployed is to be opened by the Auckland City Mission, which has secured the services of Dr. A. Kirker as honorary medical officer. 'J'HIS morning the Rev. Jasper Calder, city missioner, told The Sun that the free clinic would be open in Wellesley Street for two days in each week. A special room would be fitted adequately and Mr. E. Smith, honorary ehemist, would give his services in the preparation of necessary drugs. “One of the two days will be devoted partially to the examination of school children after school hours," he said. “I anticipate that the number of patients will increase rapidly after the clinic is open, for there is a decided need for such an institution.”
