ROYAL SHOWS “PADLOCKED”
“Padlocked," the Paramount picture from Rex Beach’s novel, will be seen at the Royal Theatre, Kingsland, this evening. It is the stoj*y of a young girl’s life nearly ruined by the severity of a hypocritical morality. JRr father's injustice and lack of sympathy and hatred of modern amusement drives her from home. Because she earns her living as a dancer and he dislikes it, she is sent to a reformatory and then almost too late he realises the evil he has caused. Lois Moran as the girl. Noah Beery as the father, are supported by a great cast. “Knock-out Riley,” which is also being shown, is a fine boxing yarn starring the popular Richard Dix. Metro - Goldwyn - Mayer announces that Willard Mack, famous playwright, will direct “A Free Soul,” with Norma Shearer in the starring role. This was originally a serial story by Adela Rogers St. John, and was produced for the stage by Mr. Mack
