PARTIES PREPARING
ELECTION CAMPAIGN TO OPEN NEXT WEEK RADIO TO PLAY BIG PART British Official Wireless RUGBY, Thursday, The General Election campaign will be begun in earnest next week, when a number of meetings will be ad-> dressed by the leaders of all three political parties. Seventeen members of the Government have arranged to speak in various parts of the country in the course of the week. Many of the principal speakers have arranged for their speeches to be relayed by wireless to other meetings. The speech of the Leader of the Liberal Party, Mr. Lloyd George, to be delivered in Manchester, will be heard by audiences in 19 other Northern cities and towns. It is understood that each party will have the j use of microphones on three or four I occasions for talks of about half hour each. In view of the increase in tlie size of the electorates wireless is regarded as an important agency for making the issues known to the voters. By its use 10,000,000 or 12,000,000 people may be reached.
