HOWICK AFFAIRS

TOWN BOARD MEETS On Thursday evening the Howick Town Board met under the ciiairmanship of Mr. J. Crawford. He and Mr. J. Litten were appointed to act as delegates to the Local Bodies’ Association. Notification was received from the Auckland Institute and Museum that the boards' contribution under the Auckland War Memorial Maintenance Act totalled £l4 2s Id. The board granted permission to the Rivoli Picture Theatre to show films of a suitable nature on Anzac Day. It was reported that the new valuation roll was now open for inspection and that the total valuation was, roughly, £193,000, an increase of £30,000.
