COLLISION AT BEND

MOTOR-CYCLIST HITS LORRY RIDER AND PASSENGER HURT (Special to THE SUN) PUTAKURU, To-day. A collision between a motor-lorry and a motor-cycle carrying a pillionpassenger occurred last evening, at a bad bend on the road near Putaruru. Doth the rider and the passenger of the motor-cycle were fairly badly hurt. The cycle was ridden by Mr. F. Naylor, of Arapuni, and the passenger was Mrs. Wilson, also of Arapuni. They were both thrown violently on to the road and received such injuries that they had to be taken to a private hospital. Mrs. Wilson received serious scalp wounds and suffered from shock and concussion, and Mr. Naylor received similar hurts. An operation was performed and later they were removed to the Waikato Hospital. Th© lorry, which was owned by Mr. J. W. Ross, of Hamilton, and which was driven by Mr. E. Newton, of Putaruru, was not harmed. though the cycle was badly damaged.
