LITTLE THEATRE SOCIETY

JOHN DRINKWATER’S WORK The Auckland Little Theatre Society will present its thirteenth production at tho Concert Chamber, Town Hall, on April 10, 11, 12, 13. The play chosen is “Bird in Hand,” by John Drinkwater, the play that has met with remarkable success in London and Sydney. It is playing to capacity business in both cities at the present time. What should be of great interest is tho fact that this effort will introduce John Drinkwater, the dramatist, for the first time in New Zealand. it is always gratifying to the society to give the works of authors who have not been played in the Dominion, and it is with justifiable pride that the Little Theatre gives its supporters this brilliant comedy, by a man outstanding in the repertory world as playwright, poet and producer. Sir Barry Jackson and John Drinkwater were responsible for the Birmingham Repertory Theatre. Their combined®efforts have made this organisation one of great merit, and it is the intention of the Auckland Little Theatre Bociety to endeavour to follow in their distinguished steps. .
