Splendid acceptances, with a good class of competitor engaged, are recorded tor the Taranaki Trotting Club’s fourth totalisator fixture, which will bo staged on the New Plymouth racecourse to-morrow, telegraphs “Abavdos” from New Plymouth. The officials have, completed all arrangements for carrying the function to a successful issue, and it is quite reasonable to anticipate that to-morrow’s meeting will prove a record in every respect. Fields promise to be large, while keen contests are assured in which backers are faced witlr a big problem in making the final selection. The presence of Auckland and Canterbury horses will lend additional attraction to the sport, and the Taranaki Cup race, containing as it does several classy performers, should provide a spectacular and speculative contest. Novice* Handicap In the Novice Handicap (to start at 12.15), the Aucklanders. Benefice and -Margaret Wallace, should have rosy prospects, while Jasn« r showed up prominently for a time the first day at Haweru. Black Ballin did not reproduce Thames showing at the recent fixture, and the public will prefer BENEFICE JASPER Waitara Handicap With a loose limit, to start at 1.255, has attracted a varying class of trotters, but if Bingen Spiers acts correctly he will be ough. Wild Downs will be on hand and Haviland. Alton Brook and Brian Bingen are possibilities. The public may vote for WILD DOWNS BINGEN SPIERS Urcnui Handicap To start at 1.35. field and Hostess also raced prominently, and on the present handicap Wakefield may do best. Schoolmate is a likely proposition and High Sea is coming back to form. Cora Tacks was never better and looks like staying tho journey. Explosion went fair races at Hawera, but Derby Lynn should account for all behind 24yds. Most fancied will be DERBY LYNN CORA TACKS Moturoa Handicap To start at 2.55. Leo Mauritius can begin so well he will be a nuisance, but Dawdler will have the better of the argument at the finish, and Great Ballin, El Direct, Our Nancy, Karma. Bell Dial and Enawah will be held in respect. Appealing most are DAWDLER GREAT BALLIN Inglewobd Handicap To start at 3.35. If Benefice escapes penalty the Auckland mare should be first choice, hut in her absence the two best may be GANG AWA* BONNIEWAH Farewell Handicap To start at 4.55. This promises to be a great race. Queen Elizabeth off tho front will go merrily, and Ngahuia is showing splendid form. Schoolmat© is a possibility and the Trustworthy—Carmel bracket will have a •host of friends.
