Time, 1.23 3-5. liood Advertisement An interesting fact in connection with the All Aged Stakes is that more than half the field (four out of the seven runners) claim that comparatively new horse. Chief Ruler, as their sire. However, with the exception of Supremacy (.who will not run), the other three. Eaglet, Dalaton and Polyxena, do not appear to bo out and out champions, though, of course, time will show that. Will Turn Out Good A horse who promises to carry plenty of money in the Chevalier Handicap to-morrow is the tbi*ee-year-oid Bulolo. On appearances, track work and performances, he must be given an undeniable chance, but will the fact that ho has not raded since December tell if it comes to the final pinch? Possibly it may, but the rigorous training the Bisogno gelding has got through these last few months has left him a mass of condition, and such u line galloper as he promises to be should be ipandy at the end. Has His Chance No horse has raced with such consistency this season as has Star Comet, and the connections of the gelding are apparently dogged by bad luck in not having had the chestnut described a winner before this. Trainer P. Bradv exercises considerable skill in placing the son of Day Comet and he is not without his chance in to-mor-row's Oakley Handicap. The calibre uf the field is not strong and, having a handy weight, with a decent run home, should materially assist Star Comet in his effort. Will Be Prominent The Ellerslie trained mare Kawainga ran a respectable race in the Oaks at Ellerslie last Saturday without doing any good, and had the track been in good order this bold galloper would have made a better showing. She will bo racing on a firm track on Saturday —if the weather remains fine —and that is where the difference will be noticed. Kawainga is an improving sort and not the best has been seen of her by any means. Ha* the Speed For a few furlongs in the Eden Handicap on the opening day at Ellerslie last week Justify ran quite a good race, but his stamina was the weak link and he petered out. That event was a mile, and with two furions less to go to-morrow he must be given more than a mere show. But Justify will have no liking for the long straight and he will need things pretty much his own way when they turn for home. May Win Again An impressive winner at Ellerslie last Monday was Roman Abbey in the hurdles. On that form he should take a power of beating in the Avondale Hurdles to-morrow, and though he has 10.7 (a rise of 121 b) he is such it fine jumper— and speedy at that—that it will need to be something good to head him off at Avondale. Roman Abbey’s win last Monday was over a mile and three-quarters, and as he will have to travel two furlongs less in his impending engagement he should run out the journey in solid fashion. Promising Sort Never too prominent in the early part of the Ellerslie Eden Handicap last week, it was not till the last couple of furlongs that Standfast looked dangerous, and though he was out of a place at the end his good fourth stanjped him as a winner in due course. The Oakley Handicap tn-mor-tow should be well suited to him. and with just under a dozen runners he should make a bold showing. Popular Fancy Remember that powerful finishing run of Stormy’s at the Avondale gathering in the autumn? Of course, his winning form at Ellerslie on Monday will be the guide by which most backers will go. but it affords some ray of hope to know how Stormy will be travelling if he is anywhere handy at the bottom of the straight, when the Titirangi Handicap is under way tomorrow. With 9.10 he will need to be extra good to win. but there is no doubting his weight carrying ability. Pacing Prominently Seven furlongs is about as far as Air King cares to travel, and for that distance he made a splendid showing at Ellerslie on Monday. Form would point to him racing prominently in the Chevalier Handicap to-morrow. and his ability to go out fast from the barrier should serve him in good stead, especially as one of the largest fields of the day will line up in this race. Air King was a winner at Paeroa a few weeks ago and if he is in winning vein to-morrow will be a tough proposition. ! for all his 9.12. I
