SALE OF TROTTERS
TOP PRICE 230 GUINEAS Press Association CHRISTCHURCH, To-day. At a sale of trotting stock, 90 horses came under the hammer, and there was a very small percentage of passings. Top price was made by a very fi,ne chestnut colt by Nelson Bingen from Princess Ann. The vendors were the executors of the estate of the late H. Newton, and the purchaser of the colt was Mr. George Armstrong, of Shirley, the price being 230 guineas. Second highest was the two-year-old filly by the imported sire Travis Axwortliy, from Mountain Rose, dam of Taurekareka. This fell to Mr. George McMillan, of Auckland, the price being 107* guineas. The owner was Mr. R. M. Morten, of Tai Tapu.
