EXECUTIVE FOURS TO PARSONS MANGERE WINS WELL The executive fours and first-year players’ fours in the Auckland Bowling Centre’s Easter tournament were concluded at the Remuera green yesterday. Parsons (Ponsonby) won the former and Prangley (Mangere) the latter. The final of the executive fours between Johnson. Mclnnes, Somervell, Parsons (Ponsonby), and Crawshaw, Twiname, Price and Koefoed (St. Hellers) resulted in an easy victory for Parsons who, at one stage, led by 18 to nil. The final scores were: Parson 33, Koefoed 6. FIRST-YEAR PLAYERS The final game in the first year players’ fours was contested between Birrell, Sansey, Macauly and Prangley (Mangere) and Dickie, Leathern, Young, Lincoln (Ponsonby). It was a fairly even game and the standard of the play was decidedly good. Up to the 15th head the score board read: Mangere, 12; Ponsonby, 10. On the fifteenth head, however, Prangley, with a splendid drawing shot, increased Man-gere-’s lead to 17—10. On the next head Prangley again increased Mangere’s lead with a splendid shot, which carried the jack for three, 20—10. A single came to Ponsonby on the seventeenth, but a great drawing shot by Macauly gave Mangere the shot on the eighteenth, the board then reading 21—11. The next head gave Ponsonby a couple, the city now requiring two fours to tie. The twentieth head saw Macauly place another single to Mangere, which put the game beyond doubt. Gee and R. W. Metcalfe, 25, v. L. C. Barton and A Budd. 13. CAMBRIDGE TOURNAMENT CAMBRIDGE, Tuesday. The Cambridge Bowling Club’s Easter tournament was continued to-day in fine weather and at the conclusion of the day’s play the final of the rinks competition was reached. Finalists are: Auckland (Aldred, Woolley, Moir, Scantlebury) and Claudelands (Frazer, Ross, Darlington and Coombes). The final will be played to-morrow morning. In the second round of tne post-sec-tional play, Scantelbury defeated Findlay by 24 to 19. The semi-finals resulted: Scantlebury 20, beat Dix (Cambridge) 16; Coombes 20„ beat Pilkington (Hamilton) 12. The pairs competition was commenced to-day with 42 entries.
