SERVICE ON MOUNT EDEN

CHRISTIAN ENDEAVOUR UNION At 7 a.m. yesterday nearly 500 people assembled on Mount Eden for a service conducted under the auspices of the Christian Endeavour Union. The opening prayer was offered by the Rev R. C. Roberts, the newlyappointed minister of the Mount Eden Congregational Church. Splendid addresses were delivered by the Rev. R. Knowles Kempton, of the Avondale Congregational Church, and the Rev'. J. McMillan, of the Green Lane Congregational Church. Special Easter hymns were sung during the service, which occupied about an hour and a-half.
