CHRISTIAN SCIENTISTS

‘THINK ON THESE THINGS” “Reality” was the subject of the lesson-sermon in all Churches of Christ, Scientist, on Sunday, March 31. The golden text was from Psalms 103:12: “Thou O Lord, shalt endure for ever; and thy remembrance unto all, generations.” Among the citations which comprised the lesson-sermon was the following from the Bible: “Finally, brethren, Whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report, if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.” Philippians 4: S.

The lesson-sermon also included the following passage from the Christian Science textbook, “Science and Health, with Key to the Scriptures,” by Mary Baker Eddy: “Dear reader, which mind picture or externalised thought, shall be real to you—the material or the spiritual? Both you cannot have. You are bringing out your own ideal. This ideal is either temporal or eternal. Either Spirit or matter is your model. If you try to have two models, then you practically have none. lake a pendulum in a clock you will be thrown back and forth, striking the ribs of matter and swinging between the real and the unreal.” (Page 3C0.)
