RAIN MARS TENNIS

DAY’S PLAY LOST Rain caused abandonment of the first day’s play in connection with the Birkenhead and Northcote Tennis Club’s annual Faster tournament, begun yesterday. A start was made during the morning, but before many games were decided the weather made continuance impossible. The position has been made difficult in view of the fact that entries are considerably larger this year than last. Players from Taihape, Hauraki Plains ana Maungaturoto are competing.
