The annual meeting of the Mauku branch of the New Zealand Farmers’ Union was held this week, Mr. A. V. Hill presiding. Officers elected were: —President, Mr C. A. Crispe; vice-presidents, Messrs. A. Woolsey and H. Green; secretary and treasurer, Mr. E. M. Wright; auditor, Mr. H. M. Crispe; executive, Messrs. A. Franklin, N. Lichfield, R. K. Membery, F. A. Outfield, W. Finlay, P. G. Chalmers, W. J. Sommerville, I. Wymer and J. Wilson; delegate to Franklin Sub-Provincial Executive, Mr. A. V. Hill; delegate to Auckland provincial conference, Mr. W. Sommerville. Appreciation of the valuable services rendered by the retiring president, Mr. A. V. Hill, during his five years of office, was placed on record. The Pukekohe troop of Boy Scouts, under Scoutmaster W. 11. S. Gee, went into camp at Young’s Beach, Papakura, on Thursday for the Easter holidays. The camp is being held in conjunction with the Papakura troop, under Scoutmaster Slessor. A comprehensive programme of work has been arranged, and several of the scoubs will sit for proficiency badges.
