TALLOW IN LONDON A fairly good demand for New Zealand tallow exists in the London market. The Bank of New Zealand received the following advice from its Loudon office, dated March 27:—Tallow: There is a fair demand. Current quotations are: Good mutton, 43s a cwt; good beef, 42s tew 42s 6d; good mixed, 425; gut, 36s to 38s. Dalgety and Company, Limited, report having received the following cablegram from their London house, dated March 27:—Tallow: 920 casks of tallow were offered and 35 per cent, were sold. Prices were 6d lower. Mutton, fine, 445; mixed, good, 425; inferior, STs 6d. Market good; unchanged. THE LONDON AND NEW ZEALAND BANK, LTD. An important announcement appears in this issue respecting The London and New Zealand Bank, Limited. A representative of the promoters I left New Zealand in February and is at the present moment conducting personal negotiations in London for the raising of the substantial proportion of the bank’s capital necessary to obtain corporation, after which the prospectus will be released in New Zealand, and the investing public here afforded an opportunity of taking up shares at par. The New Zealand Board of Provisional Directors are a group of experienced and successful New Zealand business men who will command the confidence of thq investing public.
