COMPENSATION AWARDED
SUICIDE AFTER ACCIDENT
£930 FOR WIDOW
The unusual compensation case n which a worker suffered what appeared to be a more or les sminor accident, and later developed insanity and committed suicide, has been decided in the plaintiff’s favour by the Arbitration Court. Judgment was delivered byMr. Justice Fraxer this morning. The action was between Sar.ili Blanche Pearl Mill, or Ngaruawa hi t. and the W iipa Railway and Collieries. Ltd. Mrs. Hill is the widow of John Chandler Hill, who was injured at lus work on November 17. 1927. and who committed suicide on June 8. 1928. The court decided that it must conclude that Hill's injury was greater than was thought, and that insanity and suicide resulted from it. Plaintiff was awarded £930 16s. less sums already paid. At the hearing. Mr. G. I'. Finlay represented plaintih, and Mr. A. Parry the defendant company.
