UNDISCLOSED PRICES
GOVERNMENT TENDERS CONTRACTORS NOT UNANIMOUS Merchants and traders are by no means unanimous over the suggestion to disclose their prices for Government tenders, according to the Tlon. E. A. Ransom, Minister of Public Works, in a letter to the Auckland Chamber of Commerce. Many tenderers stipulate that their quotations should be confidential. Th© chamber received the letter yesterday afternoon. Mr. Ransom said that it was not apparent that a good purpose would be served by recapitulating the policy of the Government Stores Control Board oVer the question of disclosing the prices for stores. Tho chamber is persisting with its request that prices should be made known. It reaffirmed its resolution calling on the Government to furnish unsuccessful tenderers with the details of the tenders.
