NORTH SHORE BUSES
OVERCROWDING ALLEGED | The No. 2 (North Shore) Omnibus Licensing Authority met at Devonport last evening. An application for leave to extend it service from Pupuke Road, Birkenhead, to Glenfield and Albany, was made by Messrs. Lynch and Halliday. It was deferred for the prescribed advertising and notification of the local authority. The Blue Star Motor Bus Service, Ltd., Birkenhead. applied for a permit for a new bus. As the application was not in order the question was adjourned until next Wednesday. Replying to a specific complaint of overcrowding on the Buys water-Taka-puna run. the North Shore Transport Company denied any knowledge of serious overcrowding. It accepted the suggestion of the authority that bigger buses be put on at the time of day when any overcrowding might be expected.
