SCHOOL ATHLETICS
KING’S COLLEGE SPORTS
KEENLY CONTESTED EVENTS Some keenly fought finishes and a sound standard of competition were features of the King’s College annual athletic sports at Middlemore yesterday* A large number of parents and friends of the boys were present. No records were broken, but there were some good performances in both the running and jumping events. In the school championship, Caugliey and Hargrave were outstanding. The former won all the short distance events up to a quarter mile, and Hargrave was at his best in the jumps and the half. Caugliey is at present leading for the championship cup, but the school steeplechase has yet to be decided. Lewis I. is practically assured of the Junior Cup, in which he is leading Coles by 24 points to 6. An outstanding performance was that of Lundon in the under 14 championship, in which he won all four events in convincing style.
