BOARD WANTS DETAILS
SCHOOL COMMITTEE’S ACCOUNTS
DEBT TO DARGAVILLE COUNCIL Despite inquiries, the Auckland Education E?oard Has not received details of the accounts of the late committee at Dargaville School. This morning the board received a letter from the town clerk at Dargaville asking if infoi'mation had come to hand concerning payments due to the borough council from the school committee. Mr. A. Burns, chairman of the board, could not understand why there had been no reply from the committee to the board’s request for details. Addressing Mr. R. Hoe, representative on the board for the district, Mr. Burns said that he considered that the board would have to take action. "I cannot understand why our requests have brought no answer,” Mr. Burns said. “The committee held a meeting last Monday, but the minutebooks have not come to hand.” Mr. Hoe: A letter could have gone astray. It is a fact that a letter took a week to go from Mangapai to Dargaville. That was only the other day. The board deferred the question, pending further inquiries. The payments due to the Dargaville Borough Council from the school committee are £69 12s Sd, for work done on the school grounds.
