SHORE ROAD BUSES
UNPROFITABLE PROPOSITION The new bus service to the foot of Victoria Avenue, Remuera, is losing money. The service was commenced as the result of the representations of a large deputation to the Transport Board. In four weeks ended March 9 the income by cash fares was £9B Os 4 id, and from concession fares £Bl las. The buses ran 4.161 miles, so that the return was 10.36 d a mile, or a losing proposition. The manager, Mr. A. E. Ford, has advised the board that he is reducing the service with the idea of securing a better return.
