FIRM PRICES AT FRANKTON

(From Our Oxen Correspondent) HAMILTON, Tuesday. Practically all classes of stock were yarded in large numbers at the Frankton saleyards to-day. There was a large attendance of buyers, in spite of the unfavourable weather. Prices generally were on a par with last week’s rates. Auctioneers report as follow: — The Farmers’ Co-operative Auctioneering Co., Ltd.: We had a heavy yarding of beef and store cattle. Fat cattle were easier in price. Txiere was a fanentry of fat and store sheep. Mutton was firmer. A heavy yarding of fat pigs sold firm at late rates. All stores were dull of sale. Press Association) Reed. 11 a.m. LONDON, Tuesday. At the wool sales, 9,989 bales were offered, of which 3,106 were New Zealand. There was a small and .miscellaneous offering of Merinos, chiefly second-hand, and an excellent selection of greasy crossbreds. With strong Home trade competition, a better tone prevailed, and prices were very firm. New Zealands: Huiarau, 21id top price, 19d average; Waihuka, 171 d, lGd; Keilawarra, ISJd, 17d.
