Mr. Hope Gibbons, of Wellington, returned home last evening by train after a visit to Auckland.
Mr. H. L. Tapley, formerly Mayor of Dunedin, is visiting Auckland. He is staying at the Grand Hotel.

Mr. A. V. Penn, formerly Collector of Customs at Auckland, left by the Marani yesterday on his way to England. Mrs Penn accompanied him.
Mr. Ernest McDougall and Mr. t‘Kristopher Davidson have been appointed to represent the producers on the Kauri Gum Control Board.—P.A.
Mr. Lloyd Campbell, M.P., of Northern Ireland and a well-known manufacturer of linen, who is visiting New Zealand, left by train for Wellington last evening.
