MR. H. S. TUKE, R.A., DEAD

(Australian and N.Z. Press Association) (United Service) LONDON, Wednesday. The death has occurred of Mr. Henry’ Scott Tuke, a member of the Royal AcadeYny.

Mr. ITenry Scott Tuke was born at York in 1845. He studied at the Slade School, in Italy, Paris and again in London. His first exhibit in the Roy’al Academy was in 1879, and since then he has exhibited at various London and foreign galleries. He painted many pictures of sea life, including studies of nude boys bathing in the sunlit Cornish caves. The .Chantrey Bequest trustees in ISB9 purchased his “All Hands to the Pumps,” and in 1894 “August Blue,” and tho Bavarian Government bought his “tsailors Playing Cards,” in 1894.
