Compared with last year expoi'ts show an inci’ease of £1,626,000, while imports have expanded to the extent of £2,037,700. The apparent favourable balance is consequently lower by £411,696. The valuation of exports exceeds by £895,158 that for the corresponding period of 1924-25, the year that produced the record total of £57,499,976 —that for 1927-28 was £55,619,285. Although imports have increased, in comparison with last year, the total is still lower than many of the three preceding years.
