EVERYBODY’S
“TWO RED ROSES’’ Another excellent programme was presented at Everybody’s Theatre last evening, headed by an interesting Continental picture, “Two Red Roses.” The leading actress of this production is Laino Haid, a famous Viennese dancer, who gives a memorable performance in the role of a little cabaret girl who is passionately loved by an extremely wealthy young man. To be near the girl, the young man renomnees his wealth, and takes up a position as a cabaret dancer. In addition to the beautiful romance of the story, many light comedy touches have been introduced, making a film of high entertainment throughout.
Tho second big attraction on the programme is “The Docks of New York.” This is a powerful drama of tho tangled lives of a stoker, a \hird engineer, and two girls who live in a drinking saloon on the New York wharves, patronised largely by sailors and stokers. The action of the story takes place in on© night, but the picture is full of intensely dramatic moments. George Bancroft is the star, and is ably assisted by Betty Cohipson and Olga Baclanova. Bright supporting pictures are shown.
