railway booking OFFICE IN SYMONDS STREET OPENING ON MONDAY On Monday another railway booking orfice will be opened at 18? Upper Symonds Street. Later the department hopes to open still another office in Karungahape Road, on a site to be chosen shortly. The new Symonds Street booking oflice will be a great convenience for residents of that and the surrounding suburban districts, who will be able to book their seats and berths on the train without having to come into Auckland to do so. Tho central booking office in Queen Street which was opened some months ago, has proved an invaluable boun to travellers The full benefit of these booking offices in the city will come when the new railway station is opened. Intending passengers will be saved the long journey along Beach Road, and will be able to transact their business within a lew minutes’ distance of their homes. Mf. 'A. McNeill, railway business agent in Wellington, is at present in Auckland arranging for the opening k the office in Symonds street.
