SMILING MONARCH

PHOTOGRAPH OF KING PRINCESS BETTY’S VISIT British Official Wireless Reed. 11.20 a.m. RUGBY, Wednesday, The Kins passed another good night. A good indication of his progress is the publication in to-day's Press of the first photograph of the King taken since his illness. It shows him out of doors in a bathchair with a smiling expression, and obviously on the road to recovery. The King had a good day. The weather remained dull and . cold throughout the day, and it was impossible to take the King into the grounds of Craigweil House. His Majesty spent the day sitting in his rooms. Princess Elizabeth, who arrived at Craigweil House this evening to spend a few days with the Queen while her parents, the Duke and Duchess of York, are in Norway, was taken to see her grandfather soon after her arrival.

The Duke and Duchess of York will leave London to-morrow morning for Norway, where they will represent the King and Queen at the marriage of the Crown Prince of Norway and Princess Martha of Sweden in Oslo on March 21. The Duke of York, it was officially announced to-day, will be Prince Olaf’s best man. The Duke and Duchess are travelling overland to Norway, via Dover, Calais and Berlin.
