VAGRANT GAOLED TILL JUNE Searching for a friend kind enough to stand him a drink is the main employment of Alexander* Mellis, according to Senior-Sergeant O’Grady. Mellis, a labourer, aged 65. pleaded guilty at the Police Court this morning on a charge of vagrancy. The senior-sergeant said that Mellis had been found on the old dock -site before six o’clock this morning after sleeping out all night. Tie had no means and did no work, relying on charity for his food.. Sentence of three months’ imprisonment was imposed.
