SUBSIDY OF £IO,OOO Press Association CHRISTCHURCH. Wednesday. In addressing; the annual conference of rhe New Zealand Poultry Association today. Mr. cl. W. Forbes, Minister of Agriculture. said it was the intention of the Government to extend the guarantee on the exportation of eggs to .i: 10,000. Last year the amount of the guarantee was i. 4.000. Mr. Forbes said :t was not a satisfactory business to supply the market with the aid of j Government guarantee. However, the industry was at present in its initial stages, and it was the intention of the Government to continue the subsidy for the current year, when export would probably be greater, owing to the increased production. The Government hoped, however, that egg producers would not meet with such an adverse market this year. Mr. Forbes made it clear that the Government accepted no obligation or liability with regard to any year In the future.
