AUCTIONEERS’ REPORTS Auctioneers report on stock sales held throughout the district as follow: Alfred Buckland and Sons, Ltd.—During: the week we held sales at Westfield, Pukekohe, Tuakau and Turua. Sheep fair at Clevedon, and pig- sales at Tuakau and Pukekohe. Fair yardings of cattle came forward and changed hands at ruling- values. There were heavy entries of pigs and all fats are selling well. The entry at Clevedon consisted mainly of lambs, which sold at slightly higher rates. Best dairy cows and heifers made £l2 to £l6; second grade, £9 to £ll 15s; other dairy cows and heifers, £4 10s to £8 15s; empty young cows and heifers, £3 10s to £5; store and boner cows, £2 10s to £5; heavy prime young cows and heifers, £8 to £l2 2s 6d; lighter cows and heifers. £5 5s to £7 17s Od; fat steers, £lO 5s to £l3 7s 6d; three to four-year-old steers, £8 to £9 7s 6d; two to three-year-old steers, £7 to £8; yearling to 18-months-old steers, £4 10s to £6 15s; IS-months-old in-calf dairy heifers, £4 15s to £8 10s; good calves, £3 10s to £4 ss; smaller calves, £2 10s to £3 7s 6d; other calves, £1 3s to £2 Ss; cows with calves, £7 5s to £s> 15s; heavy bulls, £8 10s to £ls 2s 6d; sound young herd bulls, £5 to £lO 10s; other bulls, £3 to £5; store and for-ward-conditioned wethers, £1 7s to £1 10s 6d; four and five-vear-old ewes, £1 7s to £1 12s; older ewes, £1 3s to £1 6s; cull ewes, 14s to 18s; best woolly lambs. £1 Is to £1 3s; smaller, 16s to £1; best shorn lambs, 19s to £1 Is; smaller shorn lambs, 14s to 17s 6d. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company Limited, reports:—Sales of cattle were held during the past week at Westfield and Warkworth, and a sheep fair at Tuakau. Values for all classes of cattle and sheep were on a par with last week’s report. We quote: Dairy cows and heifers, close to profit, best, £lO to £l6; others, £7 to £9 17s 6d; backward springers, £6 5s to £8 15s; aged cows and inferior heifers, £3 10s to £6; bulls, £3 to £lO 17s Cd, according to weight and quality: weaner steers, £2 to £4 ss; weaner heifers, £1 10s to £3 12s 6d: heifers, suitable for dairy purposes. £4 to £7 10s; yearling to 18months steers. £4 10s to £5 15s; 2 to 2iyear steers, £6 to £7 10s; 3 to 3\-year steers, £7 15s to £S 17s 6d: 4 to 41-year steers, £9 to £9 15s: grown steers in forward condition, £lO to £lO 17s 6d; 2tooth ewes, £1 15s to £1 ISs 6d; 4 and 6-tooth ewes, .£1 12s 6d to £1 16s; f.f.m. ewes, £1 8s to £1 12s 6d: sound-mouth ewes, £1 2s to £1 6s 6d: older ewes, 15s upwards; store lambs, woolly, 18s to £1 Is; shorn, 13s to 19s; store wethers, £1 5s 6d to £1 10s 6d; Romney rams, sgns to Signs; S.D. rams. 7 gns to 10 gns; E.L. rams, 3gns to 41gns.
