LANDING RESERVE
TAUPO OBJECTS TO LEASING (Special to THE SUN) TAUPO, Tuesday. A deputation from the Taupo Road Board and Taupo Progress League was received to-day by Alessrs. P. Fraser and R. Semple, Al.P.’s, and W. Nash, secretary of the New Zealand Labour Party, together with Air. C. H. Clinkard, AI.P. for Rotorua. Strong representations were made against the proposed leasing by the Internal Affairs .Department of business sites on the landing reserve. It was stated that the reserve should be used for the purposes of the wharf and access thereto and for scenic purposes, and should be controlled by the Public Works Department and not the Intex’nal Affairs Department.
