WILL TRAM FARES FALL?

ONEHUNGA AND TAXI WAR In the opinion of Cr. F. S. Morton, of Onehungu, the taxi-cab war will force the Transport Board to adopt the threepenny flat rate advocated by him at a recent meeting of the board. Cr. Morton reported to the Oneliunga Borough Council last evening that on his suggestion the manager had agreed to recommend the adoption of a minimum fare of 5d on all Onehunga trams during the rush hours. If adopted by the Transport Board it will mean that the patronage of Onehunga trams during rush hours© will be restricted to passengers travelling to Greenwood’s Corner and onwards.
