A Darwin message states that the police in the Northern Territory have been mustered to deal with a marauding expedition of wild aborigines in the Carpentaria district. Fifty men from the tribe surprised a camp and killed three sten with stone axes and spears. They looted the camp, and carried off all the women and girls. A missionary pursued the marauders, who released the prisoners. He is threatened with an attack on the mission station.
