HOOVER CALLS CONGRESS

AN EXTRA SESSION FARM-RELIEF AND TARIFF (Australian and N.Z. Press Association) Reed. 9.5 a.m. WASHINGTON, Thurs. President Hoover has summoned Congress to an extra session on April 15. The proclamation called for consideration of further agricultural relief and legislation for limited changes in tariff: but aside from these two questions Congress may take up whatever legislation it desires. It is expected that Mr. Hoover will also seek the repeal of the National Origins provisions of the 1924 Immigration Act, and the transfer of the Prohibition Enforcement machinery from the Treasury to the Justice Department.
